Planning to install these someday, but not sure if there are any workshops with experience in setting up air lockers in the north?
AFAIK they need an air pump for those to work. You have to sacrifice some of the boot space for that pump/cylinder.
Just go through this once - it has loads of information. Should help why you should or should not go for any lockers.
hey thanks for the link, it’s quite informative. Yes the airpump also needs to be bought alongwith it. There are quite a few videos on the installation in the current 3 door jimny as well, which indicates a high level of precision tools and knowledge. So was on the lookout for such a workshop.
For me the jimny will be a complete recreational 4x4, so this is one mod I look forward to.
Well, the equipped BLD does the job and with proper tyres, the Jimny is capable enough. I’d focus on getting a 2 inch lift and good suspension.
Again, personally I’ll upgrade the suspension after sometime. Diff locks probably after a really long time when many folks have it - then I’ll probably look at it once the local mechanics upskill themselves. Not saying they don’t have skill now but since this is relatively a new vehicle, Gypsy workshops should be having the necessary skills for them anyways.
