My View on the Jimny – After 50,000 km
Pros:
- Very low maintenance cost.
- True “go-anywhere” vehicle.
- Even after 50,000 km, the engine and body still feel like new—no fatigue, no rattles.
- Thanks to its low numbers, catchy color, and cute design, it always attracts attention. Kids and elderly people, in particular, are big fans.
- Strong service network across India.
Cons:
- Although the service network is wide, not all service centers are well-trained on this vehicle. For example, my Jimny still has a steering offset issue after an alignment, and I once faced a bent radius arm bracket because the wrong lift point was used. That said, the majority of service centers across India are excellent.
- Some people dismiss it, saying it’s “too small,” as they think vehicles are only for showing off.
Overall:
I genuinely enjoy this vehicle. It’s my primary—and only—ride, perfectly suited for our small family of two. It’s like a pair of cool Converse sneakers: no care needed, lasts long, and there will always be a group of people who love it—so it never goes out of fashion.
