So came across this video on YouTube for the installation of dash cam for the Jimny.
Not all dash cams are compatible with the Jimny (a lot are, some aren’t), please read the description and be careful in selecting. There’s a difference in the dash cams we can use due to the following reasons:
- the windshield is almost upright and not as slanted as hatch/sedan etc
- the rear door opens out wide and not opens upwards like with most other vehicles.
This necessitates a different approach for dash cams installation and routing the wires for the rear camera as well.
This is a starter guide as we don’t have the vehicles yet and only to have an idea as what to expect. Let’s make a true Jimny installation video once we receive the vehicles in actuals.
