Hello folks
So recently got a issue in my manual jimny gearbox that it stucked and wasn’t shifting into any gears from which it is stucked and sometime take a lot of force to shift , clutch is new and working properly,
So I changed the gear oil and suddenly after that it worked properly for approx 600/700km but now again it got stucked and as I tried to check it myself by taking out the gear lever so found water near the linkage but when I drain the oil there was no water .
So is there anyone else facing the same issue . If yes it will be great full of him to tell how he got it solved .
Thank you in advance
Most likely the gear lever assembly needs to opened , cleaned, lubricated and installed again. Several people have faced this issue when doing water wading. The gear lever base has aball joint that get corroded if water accumulates there for too long.
Usually the gear level assembly needs to be replaced.
If you do water wading you need to thoroughly check differentials, transfer case, gearbox etc for any water ingress and replace the oil as soon as possible. The oil will turn cream color if water has entered.
Never go above 1 feet or standing water in the Jimny unless you have a differential breather kit. Even then the water level should remain below the gear lever base level. Water enters from the place where the gear lever is bolted to the floor of the Jimny.
have diff Breather and gear and transfer Breather installed
But also just cleaned the gear leaver area and put up everything back but still same issue
