Welcome to the Forum Arun, glad to have you here. We have a ton of useful information and details about the Jimny. Just browse through the content and if you still need something else please ask.
Also our Telegram group is super hyperactive and I hope you have joined that too. But be aware that the Telegram group is very active and receives hundreds of messages per day.
Welcome once again and I look forward to your ownership review soon.
Hello everyone
I am Col Amitabh. Veteran from Indian Army. I stay at Manali Himachal Pradesh.
I took delivery of Jimny Alpha AT in Kinetic Yellow on 03 Aug from Nexa Mandi , Himachal Pradesh. After that went to Chandigarh. Was looking for BF Goodrich Tyres but couldn’t find them. Next option was Yokohama Geolander 215/75R15. Fitted them . Came back to Manali. Roads are blocked. So no driving these days.
Will make a long trip to south in winters.
Welcome and congratulations for your new Jimny. Yokohama is a very good Tyre and many folks here in the forum have the same setup.
I would also like to invite you to join our Telegram group where the interactions are quick and fast. You can join us by visiting the following link.
We are also attempting a record for the first convoy of Jimny vehicles to scale the Umling La pass starting next month. We will be crossing Manali and would love to meet you. Of course you are welcome to join in our endeavour as well. PM me if you want more details and do join us on Telegram too.
I was reading in news that new kinetic yellow Jimmy was hit by speeding bus sideways. All passengers are safe as side airbags deployed. The car belonged to Mr Swapnil Thakur. I hope it was not your car.
This is Tanmay from Bihar. My friends call me TT though (Tanmay Tarun).
I have been driving the alpha manual since a month now. Took the delivery on 21st August. I am happy and excited to share that my Jimny is the only one in town till now.
I am planning on changing the tyres to 215 instead of stock 195. The main reason is that i feel the vehicle sways on small hurdle type speed breakers on speeds above 30kmph.
I am a huge fan and enthusiast of gypsy and 4x4 since i was a kid and could get my hands on on the new Jimny only now. I am a happy traveler and try to get on highway whenever i can. I’ve been to Darjeeling and Miric in my Jimny but otherwise have taken my previous car (Swift VXi) to Kalimpong, Darjeeling, Sikkim, full road trip of Bihar etc.
I am happy to have found this forum and connect with all the like minded people. Hope to meet fellow enthusiasts in meetups and other adventures.
there are alignment issues in the initial batches too! so this happens. Also at certain speeds, breakers give a sway to your vehicle unlike the normal mono cocks vehivles(swift, ecosports) we drive.
Finally found the intro thread…
Hello,
I am Nilesh Joshi living in Gurgaon. You can call me Nilu, short & sweet. We are living in Gurgaon for about 10 yrs now. Myself my wife & 14 yrs old son we love to travel a lot. We have done almost all circuits including spiti in HP, UK & RJ in our Skoda rapid. Got our Alpha Automatic K-Yellow delivered last month. For me it’s first time driving a high GC & ladder frame. Did a Gurgaon-Pune-Mumbai-Gurgaon recently & the kind of attention we got during the trip was beyond imagination. Few of them drove parallel to us on the highway & requested us to stop by so they can take a look at the car. The K-Yellow surely brings smile to the kids on the road. Haven’t done off road yet but do one soon. Leh-kashmir, sach pass & entire NE is on the bucket list. Looking to meet a few more travel enthusiasts here.
Regards
Nilu
Hello and greetings…
Simple Intro: Raj Surin, Gurgaon based (will probably be in Jaipur for a couple of years).
Have retired from Active Job life…
Took delivery of the Jimny on 17th Sept…Alpha-MT…am enjoying it .done some trips towards Jim-corbet / Rajasthan and some wild-life zones…mostly Photography oriented trips.
Some Pics: (am not sure if it will show)…its a first attempt at posting.
My name is Jay Kodoth, based in Bangalore. I got my Jimny Alpha AT Dual tone Sizzling Red, delivered 10 days back and clocked 1000 KMs on highway (Bangalore - Mangalore), ready for the first service on Monday.
I am not intended to make any major mods that affects the warranty. First thing I changed is the front grill, replaced it with tactical badging, copy of roaming horizon badging. I would change the tyres to Yokohama Geolandar 215/75/ R15 once the stock tyres burn out. Got GFX floor mat, which I found better compared to the stock mats. Planning to get some utility accessories in near future, I liked the dashboard storage and gear console storage, wish listed them in amazon Japan.
I am quite happy about the ride quality in the first 1000 KM and I was able to get around 13 kmpl, having cruised around 90+. I have some feedback for the first service, like thud sound from rear while jumping the bumps, likely comes from tailgate and of course the rear seatbelt beep due to lack of rear seat weight sensor etc.
I would look forward for sharing and gaining ideas, knowledge to make Jimny experience better.
