Is tyre upgrade necessary or it's for just showoff

I want to upgrade my jimny tyres from stock …needs ur expert views…is it necessary to upgrade.

It’s not necessary but neither is it a showoff. Top reasons for upgrading tyres are better high speed stability, better off-road traction and resilience against cuts and punctures and better comfort.

It also depends on your use case. If you are going to be driving primarily in the city and highways then the stock tyres are okay (except the high speed stability part).

If you are taking the beaten path often and like to go off-road then it’s better to upgrade the tyres.

15000 kms here on stock tyres, over every kind of road, including deep snow, major off-roads and slush. The only thing I haven’t done is rock-crawling.
There’s a reason Suzuki chose these same tyres globally for all JB74 (current Jimny) models. They are mud and snow rated, have just the right profile to offer a great ride and not be a drag on the modest engine. As a bonus, you get some surprising gas mileage for the given aerodynamics.
Fatter tyres will be advantageous over a variety of off-road terrain like rocks and sand. But they will mainly be for looks if you prefer it that way. For everything else, the stock Duelers are A1.
Oh, and you can’t beat them for snow. I know that first hand, in direct comparison to a Thar on fatter rubber.

Thank you for your expert guidance :slightly_smiling_face:

I have done over 12000 kms on highways and trails and off-roading in Ladakh all on stock tyres with no issues.
