Hello dear mates ,
I am Dr Nikhil , from Kerala . A dentist by profession and a Prosthodontist by passion . I have been in search for a life style vehicle . Gypsy was my child hood favourite car . Haven’t got a chance to ride one as I was bit skeptical to ride it since I have been using only sedans and hatch backs . After my post graduation the first car what I bought to the family was Celerio zxi O replacing our Alto Lx 2005 model. I wanted to have a car with airbags even though we had a honda civic 2006 MT in the garage . I am a consultant Maxillofacial prosthodontist at different hospitals and clinics as well as a professor at the near by dental college . My drive distance varies from 90- 120 km on an average . In 2015 I really wanted manual instead of an
automatic as I used to say real men drives manual

. It all changed with increase in traffic . In early 2017 Ignis was launched and had an eye on it . Especially the automatic ( Ags ) was reading articles on automatic as my left foot was paining during traffic hours engaging the clutch . Ags ( automated gear shift ) cars needed a different driving style. Got my ignis Ags in May 2017 selling of my 2 year old Celerio ZXI O MT . Managed to learn the driving technique for Ags where we have to lift the foot off the accelerator while upshifting. Men while when Ignis came to garage Honda Civic MT was in the garage untouched as driving an automatic was too good . Planned to change Civic , couldn’t find an ideal replacement at that time other than Face lifted Honda city . Got a test drive of honda city Zx cvt like it went ahead and purchased one in September 2017 . From then my garage had two automatics - Honda city Zxcvt 2017 and Ignis Ags alpha 2017 . As said gypsy was allways in my mind . Affordability of a proper 4x4 , usage , time to do off-roading made me rethink of buying an off roader . Mostly I use my cars on high ways 99% . The itch to own jimny started in 2022 when I first saw 3 door jimny . I was behind that . Got to know that a 5 door variant would be launched for India . And reviews shared that it can be used as a primary car on high ways . Had done a ladhak trip in my cousins Scorpio 4X4 AT in 2018 . So driving to ladhak is always on my mind . When time permits will head for a road trip is my plan . Later 5 door jimny pics started to show up in media . Even after booking were started after the media drive I dint book as I wanted to see the car in real flesh . Got the car unveiled in June at NEXA showroom ( SARATHY Nexa kollam ) . Day 1 itself I felt for the car . Took my mother another day to see wether she can have an easy ingress and egress . She too like the car. Booked the car on June itself and colour selected was celestial blue . My jimny came to me on July 22 and after PDI And temp reg formalities got my car in hand on July 27 . Till now has completed 250km on its odo in 2 days time with an average of 13kmpl . Hope to cross more miles with confidence . Thank you .

Great writeup Dr. Nikhil, welcome to the forum. The pictures are really lovely and what a beautiful collection of cars you have. I am sure you will love the Jimny and fulfill your childhood dreams. Its a very personal car that connects to the owner in a very usinque way. I guess thats what makes it such a favorite.
