Steering Misalignment Issue After wheel alignment

Hi all,

I’m seeking advice and sharing my experience after a recent 30,000 km service of my stock Jimny

The service was routine, and there were no issues with the vehicle prior to the service.
However, after receiving my vehicle post-service, including their wheel alignment, I noticed that the steering is now off-center (around 15° to left). These issues were not present before the service. The service team attempted to fix the issue but were unable to resolve it. They assured me that they would correct the problem within two days.

I have since taken the vehicle home, but I also noticed that it pulls to the left while driving on straight roads.

Has anyone else encountered similar issues?

Would it be better to get the wheel alignment checked at an outside specialized wheel alignment center rather than a Suzuki service center?
Any recommendations or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance

Does anyone know any service centre near Mumbai that can properly align my wheels and steering? My Jimny drives straight perfectly, but the steering is off-centered to the right. These issues started after an alignment was done two months ago. I had a realignment done at another service centre two days ago, but the steering remains off-centered. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Bibin,

This is a common issue with most Jimny’s. The issue is that Jimny requires it’s steering angle sensor reset after the alignment has been done. Most wheel alignment shops so not have the equipment to do this. Even Nexa technicians don’t do it unless specifically asked to do it.

Just visit Nexa and ask them to perform a steering angle reset for your Jimny and the steering will return to center position.

If you are in Bangalore them let me know and I can help.

No one at the Nexa service center seems to be aware of these issues. I tried contacting Maruti’s customer care, but no one appears to have sufficient technical knowledge. This time, the service center suggested replacing the radius arm for ₹10,000 in an attempt to fix the issue, as they noticed a slight bend in the radius arm bracket. It’s extremely disappointing that this has happened to a vehicle they market as a premium product.

@Traveler

@Bibin I also have the same issue where steering is tilted to right side. Did the nexa folks manually adjusted ( re-fixed steering ) your steering to try to fix it ?. For me, even after allignment and steering ange sensor reset, after running for couple of kilometres. It again goes back to the same scenario. If your steering is untouched then an allignment and steering angle sensor reset would do the same and Manik can help you with SAS reset once you are in Bangalore.
