Suspension Upgrades and Lift Kits

Hello All!
This is a post seeking your reviews of suspension upgrades that you may have gotten installed on your Jimnys.

Innumerable Jimny videos (primarily from Australia and South Africa) that I had been inhaling for over 3 years leading to the 5-Door’s release in India, suggest that a suspension upgrade (paired with even slightly wider tires) greatly improves the ride quality and off-road capabilities. This includes reduction in body roll, and a more comfortable, and planted ride on highways etc.

So, despite the fact that like many of us, I will be spending 95% of my time on tarmac, I am keen on getting one. It would be nice to have better ride comfort, less tossing around in the hills (at least for the passengers).

I am trying to decide between the Iron Man (Australia ~1.4 Lakhs), Tough Dog (Australia, ~1.1L), Tanabe (Japan, ~1.7L - adjustable dampening), and Dr. Nano (India, ~70K).

Anyone here has upgraded their suspensions with any of these brands, or other brands, and has reviews of how these behave or affect the performance positively and / or negatively? Please comment on!

Hi Anandh,

Welcome to the forum. Many of our menbers have upgraded the suspensions and Tanabe and Iron Man are the favouritea. Bilstien also provides very good shock absorbers.

Hi I know i am late in responding here as just joined the forum here. I have used Iron Man and moved on to Tanabe as wanted an adjustable one. Iron man is softer than the Tanabe and I prefere the harder ones.
