The first top 3 modifications for your Jimny?

Thanks ! I got all 3 parts including TC from streettracklife UK. They shipped via DHL and customs clearance was handled by them. I got the parts within 5 days.

Hopefully our Indian manufacturers would start making quality products soon.

Amazon Japan is also a very good and economical source for Jimny Accessories. Do check it out. Amazon handles all the customs etc and ships through DHL. We have purchased many items from there.

Did you pay customs (additional amount other than the one on website) or did they take care of it?

Yes i had to pay additional customs duty, once DHL cleared it with Indian customs. DHL sends a payment link and we can pay there, post which they will deliver the shipment, otherwise they will keep it until we pay and we have to pay warehouse charges. I had to pay about roughly 45% customs duty  . DHL gave a combined receipt, it didn’t have break up of customs at each item level. I was mainly interested in the Throttle Controller (costed about 20K including duty), which seemed to be ok deal for me considering their unavailability in India currently.

Thanks a lot for the information. Seems no way to get cheaper in India. Good that you got your items atleast.

The Centre Console Organizer is a must and I always struggle to manage the Cables and other small stuff. Available at Amazon @4K which I believe is too steep for the console. Can someone recommend a similar product please.

Try Amazon Japan at https://www.amazon.co.jp/Storage-Multi-functional-Organization-Interior-Installation/dp/B0967R9Q5C/ref=mp_s_a_1_7?crid=1HM0MJ6TBKMID&keywords=jimny+storage&qid=1690885964&replacementKeywords=収納&sprefix=jimny+storage%2Caps%2C416&sr=8-7&vehicle=スズキ%3Aジムニー

My first few accessories (all from Amazon Japan):

  1. LED Shift Gate Panel: Its double tape quality wasn’t very good, but good double sided tapes are available from Amazon India, so easy to fix.
  2. Extension Power Supply Unit: To increase USB ports
  3. Dashboard Tray: Fits super neatly
  4. Console Tray
  5. Defogger Cover

Planning to get these in the next order:

  1. An armrest: Not sure which one yet
  2. This drink/mobile holder

On armrest, has anybody tried or heard any reviews of this Seiwa one?

I like the armrest showed in the CurbOver channel too, but I am veering towards this one. No hurry to order this, however, so in case someone has had any reviews of this one, would appreciate any inputs.

Many of our forum members have this exact one. It has been resonable in terms of quality. I think @_Aj has the same one and I believe @Galactic also has the same one.

You can also ask this question in our Telegram Group. If you haven’t joined it then you can go to Telegram: Contact @CurbOver and join the Telegram Group.

I had those. They are amazing but as with all plastic armrests, it’s mounted on the two cup holders and being plastic on plastic, it will flex and don’t use it to put your body weight and adjust.

Better option is to get the one from streettracklife.com as it mounts on the seat chassis.

Thanks @_Aj. I saw this on the streetracklife website and the post by @ghosty, but I somehow don’t feel very good at the prospect of piercing a hole in the upholstery on a new vehicle  So looking for something plug and play for now. I may take the one that @Traveler suggested then. But will also check with the folks on Telegram forum once.

Ah I understand, there’s no major “hole” on the upholstery. It conceals everything nicely and it’s worth it. Many of us have done that and I have used both the armrest and your money and efforts are spent better with the streettracklife. It is also made in Sweden.

Oh, ok. Is this the one with installation steps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZJPatieYp8 ?

Thanks @Srinath_Murti. We have decided to for a plug and play solution only for now (sorry @_Aj  ), and given my good experience with other Seiwa products, I am planning to get the same armrest as you did.

My second round of accessories from amazon japan:

  1. Switch extensions: I wasn’t sure how this will turn out; in fact the only reason I ordered was because its shipping was coming to be virtually free with the rest of the items, but these are quite nice. The feel and placement is as if they are Jimny stock. No complaints.
  2. Sealight F1 fog lamps as replacement for the stock ones - found about this from a team-bhp post. Yet to get them fitted.
  3. Aluminum pedals (plug and play) - wanted to get the better K2 ones, but budget came in the way . But they fit easily and provide better grip than the stock ones.
  4. Front floor mats - replacement for the nexa ones (i find back ones fine). This also on recommendation of a team-bhp fella.
  5. Ruiya Armrest - was torn between the Seiwa and this one for the longest time - eventually decided based on the fact that this is cheaper; I can also tell myself that @Traveler is using it
