Hello, I’m Bibin, residing in Mumbai. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to learn from experienced members of the CurbOver forum regarding some of my concerns about the Jimny. Is underbody rust coating necessary? Will mild encounters with road bumps and potholes damage its suspension? Is the Jimny’s suspension robust enough to withstand mild abuse? Thank you.
Hi Bibin,
Underbody coating on Jimny is already provided by Maruti. However since you live in a coastal area its better to get one more coat done. You can ask Nexa service centre itself to do it.
Regarding suspension please dont worry at all. The Jimnys suspension is very very robust and can take a lot of abuse without any problems.
Unless you plan to do hard core offroading there is no need to change anything in the suspension. At the most you could install an underbody protection plate that is made by Swastik fabs at Bangalore which will protect your transfer box.

I believe it is not the 3M underbody coating provided in Nexa. We might want to do it outside for better quality ? What’re your thoughts ?
