Does anybody have underbody photos of the Jimny? Specially of the transfer case. I am in germany and want to bring along some underbody protection items but not sure if they will fit the 5 door since the chassis has been lengthened.
I have a fair idea of the underbody as I saw it just today. The transfer case is surprisingly compact and sits just below the transfer lever.
As far as I can tell the changes to the Jimny underside are limited to a longer chassis and longer propellor shafts. The engine, transmission and transfer box are all at the same place and of the same size as the 3 door Jimny.
I will be able to confirm the suitability of the protection plates if I can see a picture or better if you share a link where they are available.

Its similar to this guard JB74 Suzuki Jimny Transfer Guard Fitting - YouTube and the guy is fitting stuff in the chassis so was wondering if maruti moved around the bolt to chassis holes options due to the extended chassis then might not fit, but anyways might as well get them to test and see if they fit
The original mounts that this person removed from the Jimny are same as the ones we have here. I saw these exact mounts today and they were even of the same forged aluminium that was shown in the video.
I think these new steel mounts that the video guy has shown would fit seamlessly although as you can imagine it would be difficult to accurately measure each mount using just the video.
My best guess is that these would fit as the width of the ladder frame is same in both 3D and 5D and the placement of the transfer box is also at the same position.
That is then best I can say at this point. Please don’t hold a gun to my head if it doesn’t fit as we need specifications to be a 100% sure.

Yep no worries, thanks for confirming though. I also think they wouldn’t have altered anything apart from the length. I’ll bring some stuff down and experiment.
No problem. If you can get hold of the specs then I can head over to Nexa tomorrow and have them haul the Jimny up the lift and check.

I didn’t get any specs but some customer installation images the seller sent to me. Thanks a ton for checking that out. I think rest of the underbody protection should be the same as well.

There is an offering from ironman. Please check. I am keen on going for this. Is this worth it for the price?
Nice. But aren’t we losing an inch of GC there and increasing the probability of scraping that guard? I think it is best to include that when using a lift kit and going hardcore off-road.

I’ve always been more than a bit concerned about the 4 radius arm mounts in the Jimny, which appear to be the lowest hanging points in the vehicle. And in the 5 door LWB version, they looked particularly prone to damage while getting ‘beached’ off-roading. Turns out, my fears were well founded. One of my mounts seems a tiny bit dented from my excursion last weekend and now, I’m searching frantically for a set of radial cup protectors. Anyone know of a source who’s importing/fabricating these in India?

Yes - there’s none right now. Bimbra announced some accessories scheduled to be launched soon under their brand. I hope it’s there else we have to import them from other countries which is a very expensive affair.

Swastikfabs in Bangalore have developed their own underbody transfer case protector for Jimny. I reached out to them and they said it costs 20K. They are also the authorized dealers of ARB 4x4 products from Australia.
