Hi all,
Anuj Purohit this side with intent to document and share ownership of my 2023 Jimny through this topic. I generally don’t write long, neither read long; thus please excuse me for my writing skills(if I may have any of that); but the main reason I am here is that I do drive long
I have named my Jimny as Ibex (not a buck but a doe).
Some background:
Before Jimny, I had Fiat Punto 1.3MJD, which is no longer in use. I do drive Mahindra Scorpio S10 AT along with the Jimny.
So lets begin with short summary:
Wanted a Jimny since ages.
Was excited since news came in for a 5 door Jimny.
Launched on 12th Jan 2023.
Booked on 12th Jan 2023 by paying INR 25K - Alpha AT Bluish Black (Nexa Platinum Manesar dealership).
Followed up each day with the dealer.
Price announced on 07th June 2023. Was little disappointed but then rose above it by the evening with help of an Old friend who happens to be a Monk.
Got quote of my 1st day booked Scorpio N Z8L D 4x4AT the same day as it was ready for PDI. Again with the help of my Old friend, made decision to bid farewell to the Scorpio N booking for now.
Dealer offered delivery on 8th June 2023 but was Granite Grey color. I was not sure to change from Bluish Black.
Visited showroom at 10:00am on 9th to see in person; Got it home by 19:00 hours the same day.
My intent is to explore Himalayan region with my Jimny. I am going to take care of her, so that she can take care of mine.
Here is a picture of my family taking the delivery.
Big congratulations Anuj, probably the first Jimny delivery in the NCR region. Kudos for your tenacity to get the Jimny home the very first day.
Do show us some more pictures of the interiors and exteriors.
One question I had was about the standard toolkit. Could you click some pictures of the toolkit also, wanted to see what all tools are provided with the Jimny.
An overview of the Suzuki Connect would also be great.
Wishing you lots of long trips in the mountains and jungles with your Ibex.
Congratulations Anuj for the first delivery in NCR region and the first from our CurbOver Group. Cherish all your memories for the years to come and Have Safe and Happy Driving Ibex.
Definitely it can be used as a city car. Infact it shines in that department due to its boxy shape, high seating, and a peppy nature.
For highway, you will need to become a sedative driver if not already so. Its best at cruising at around 90ish km/hr.
Two videos showing mild offroading and application of 4H with BLD kicking in. Notice the traction like blinking like crazy which is when BLD is trying to lock the spinning wheel.
Congrats Anuj on your purchase and wishing more miles of ownership of the Jimny. Thanks for sharing your reviews and please continue to do so; shocked to see if this is your office route!
In both the cases, I am assuming Jimny could sail through in 2H if we could drop the pressure to 20 psi as opposed to the stock pressure (26 psi) or just in 4H with stock pressure.
4H would be fuss free invariably in such scenarios.
I did try this same section a day before and it sailed though in 2H. This road leads to my office and there are few more routes. I tried this one purposely to test 4x4 hardware. Will be testing in proper technical tracks in few days. No one can say this is solid axle setup. Rides like a dream.
Spoke to him when he took delivery and he said that the on road manners are very good. Even highway performance is better than Innova CRYSTA.
It’s like a hatch in city. Very good suspension tuning and setup.
Congratulations Anuj! More so for being the first on the forum. Since we all were witnessing your passion to procure it on day one, while cutting through all the hardships that dealer had to bring up, we know how much you desired and wished for it. Have a fulfilling ownership and keep us glued to all the mods you plan to do. Happy Jimnying.
Congrats on the Jimny Anuj! Highway performance better than Innova crysta is good to hear. I was a bit apprehensive on day to day comfort since we have a young kid as well.
