Introductions Here

Hey ‘Simply Jimny’ tribe !!!

I am Subbiah (Subbi) from Noida.
Born and raised in Mumbai, where I spent my first 25 years, have lived and worked in Trivandrum, Bangalore and now Noida for the past 18+ years.

It just felt right from the start about Jimny, despite hearing the usual “Oh its toy-like,” "very underpowered, “fuel-hungry” critiques. Though late, but I did the purchase in Jan 2025, a Grey Jimny :).

Its stock for now and may stay that way unless there is a real need for a mod.
But I am excited to learn from this amazing group for genuine suggestions on modifications when the time comes.

I stumbled upon this group after watching a Spiti video on YouTube, and thats what hooked me! Well made video and very well conducted tour. Congratulations to the organisers and the participants.

I am looking forward to connect with you all and hopefully join the next expedition.

Oh ya, I have also heard that naming your Jimny is a thing — so am curious, what have you named yours? I would love some inspiration for my own!

While I used to be into photography, music and painting, I am hoping the Jimny will spark those creative passions again.

I am also a huge fan of exploring local food and trying new cuisines — something I am eager to do more of as I hit the road with you all.

“Here’s to endless roads and new horizons with group ‘Simply Jimny’!”

Hi fellow Jimny enthusiasts,

I’m Dhwanit, from Bengaluru, on the verge of becoming a new Jimny owner!

I’ve been working in the tech industry for the past 25 years, with the last 15 running my own software consultancy.

Used to off-road a long while ago in a M&M 550 jeep, when I was still employed by someone else, before hustling off to start & grow my consultancy business.

Now I think it’s time for me slow down the pace, to get back to my earlier passions of travel, photography, and off-roading, all of which fell by the wayside these past 15 years.

I’d also appreciate some handholding/assistance by Jimny owners/buyers in this group, preferably from Bengaluru, so that I can finalize my booking soon (haven’t purchased a new vehicle in the past 7 years). Please feel free to DM me & we can take it from there.

Looking forward to interacting with group members & the larger Jimny community in India!

Cheers!
Dhwanit

Hello everyone,

My name is Imtiyaz, and I’m from Navi Mumbai. I own a Red DT Jimny Alpha AT that I purchased in August 2024.

I work on ships, and like other members of this forum, I too have a passion for cars.

Initially, I subscribed to the CurbOver (Simply Jimny) YouTube channel after watching Umling La expedition. I must say that the videos on YouTube and the forum content have been incredibly helpful in finding the best stuff for my Jimny.

Here are some of the modifications and accessories I’ve installed:

Interior:

  1. Seat covers (MGA)
  2. Floor mats and boot mat (GFX)
  3. Gear box organizer and rear defogger cover (Harman Impex)
  4. Glass holder, gear lever illumination, and USB extension (Amazon Japan)

Exterior:

  1. Roof carrier (Bimbra)
  2. Functional snorkel
  3. Rear ladder
  4. Side step rock slider
  5. ABS spoiler
  6. Door Visor and side cladding (MGA)

Misc Electronics and Safety

  1. 3-channel dash camera (REDTIGER F17)
  2. TPMS (JK Treel with App – compatible with Apple car play)
  3. M60 – Digital Inclinometer with GPS
  4. Jio motive

Lighting:

  1. Aux beam 360 Pro 7-inch round driving light (with Amber and Leather cover)
  2. Aux beam RGB switch panel

Mods planned:

  1. Differential breathers
  2. EVC-X

As of now, I’m happy with the stock tires, but I’ll consider upgrading them once the need arises or during my first tire change. Presently the car has completed approx. 8000 Kms.

Jimny shares the parking space with MG Gloster.

I’m here to connect with fellow car enthusiasts and Jimny lovers, to learn from each other’s experiences, and share our own.

I’d love to be part of any future expeditions!

Happy and safe Driving

Hello Community Members!
Feels great to be part of this Jimny Tribe

I am based in Bangalore and own the Alpha AT Jan2025 Model_Bluish Black.
I am basically from Coorg and hence wanted an affordable 4WD (switched from Scorpio Mhawk) to drive around my estate. I have 2 more SUV’s kept in stock condition (minor changes) so I wanted to go all out and customise / modify this one

Here are some modifications / upgrades I have done so far. Most have been procured from Japan / Thailand exporter.

Wind Booster / Throttle controller
Yokohoma 215 AT tyres
Suzuki Front Grill - Japan
Tri Color Projector Fog Light
UK Break Lights
Front & Back Dash Cam - 70Mai
DRL Spoiler with Roof marker Break & Indicator lights
Gear LED Strip
Signal Light Indicators
Cardi AC vent & Ambient Lights
Honey Comb Dual Fog Light - German Make
Pioneer Sound Kit for Jimny
Rock Slider / Side Step Jimny custom made
3D japanese Floor matts
Rear defogger cover
Gear Box Storage Case & Storage Tray
Multi function high speed charging with display
Other minor accessories - tactical petrol cover, Door soft close, extra wide Mudflaps Japanese make, seat belt clips, Suzuki Cursive Logo and embles etc…

Overall, I am pleased with almost all of the above fittings as they were all very high quality and were all plug and play with no wire skimming or changes to stock mechanical / electrical except the Spoiler with DRL lights which had minor wirring issues. I do have some queries on getting Pioneer woofer / amp fitment which I will post in the appropriate group.
I didnt have a particularly pleasant experience from Varun Motors Hebbal for my 1st free services, so if anyone here can recommend a better service workshop, will be appreciated.
Look forward to communicating more often…thanks all

Hello everyone,

I’m Jerin John Jacob, a Mallu born and raised in Delhi, now working in Mumbai.

I’m thrilled to finally join CurbOver! I’ve been following the YouTube channel for a while

I absolutely fell in love with the Jimny when it launched in India. I got my Gemini (Jimny) (Alpha Automatic in black) in September 2024.

Since then, I’ve taken many small trips in and around Mumbai and even completed a major 2000 km road trip to the Rann of Kutch.

My Jimny is mostly stock, with the only modifications being a Viofo 3-channel dash cam and some minor cosmetic accessories from Maruti Suzuki.

Looking forward to being part of the community!

Hello everyone,

My name is Varun Narayan, and I’m a lawyer based in Chennai. I recently booked a Jimny Alpha AT in Bluish Black and hope to take delivery in about four weeks.

I’m thrilled to be a part of this community and look forward to joining future expeditions.

A quick question to the community: Has anyone raised the seat height on their Jimny? I’m 6ft tall and want to raise my riding position a bit. Would appreciate any suggestions/ recommendations on this.

Cheers and Happy Driving!

Hi all, I’m Sandeep, a Hypnotherapist from Bangalore. I got the Black Jimny AT this Sept and have just clocked the first 1000 kms. Loving it so far with memories going back to the gypsy.

Besides the usual interior bits, these are physical mods I have done -

  • OME lift kit
  • Radial arm guards
  • Rock slider
  • Light mounting bar with the 20” Hella lightbar :-1:
  • Recovery points F+R
  • BMC Air filter

Future mods planned -

  • Front and Rear bumper change
  • Suitable Winch
  • Roof Rack
  • Snorkel
  • A Turbo upgrade :crossed_fingers:

I’m happy with the light bar which is really bright but being very mindful of other road users, I do not like to use it on road. So that’s a bummer and hence the :-1:. I’m contemplating of switching to some smaller lights instead.

Regarding the turbo upgrade for the AT I’m not sure how that will go, so I’ll just wait to complete 60k kilometers before tampering with the engine. The rest of the pending mods are easily doable when required I guess.

Hi All,

My name is Aravind, I am from Hyderabad. I have a Jimny Alpha MT 2024. I have a roof carrier on the crossbars, and few modifications inside for storage to house camping equipment.

I have clocked around 25000 km on my Jimny so far, I would love to be part of any upcoming expeditions with the Group.

Additionally have radial arm guards and a rock slider. Looking to add more underbody protection.

Hello Everyone,

Its been 24 hours purchasing the Jimny (Alpha AT Dual Tone) and I can’t keep calm.

My name is Namit Kapoor. I am based out of Gurgaon working in Fintech company.

I have been travelling for quite sometime now, mostly in Himalayas.

I’ve covered Leh, Zanskar and Spiti multiple times. I’ve covered mostly all of himachal pradesh that can be accessible by road because I love to drive.

I usually travel by a Bike or my current car which is Creta 2018 E+ Petrol. That car has always gone too far, all the time, without giving any headache.

Its been a very good upgrade and I hope to join snow expeditions.

I am targeting to do it in coming winter season.

I can’t wait.
